If you ever wanted to adopt a fluffy tiny kitten, you should start your search at a local animal shelter. You could always go to a bookstore instead.

Outside of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, an independent bookstore named Otis & Clementine’s Books and Coffee came up with a novel way to get people to help cats. Entering this coffee shop or bookstore, you may find something out of the ordinary. That’s a rare form of beauty.

A few years ago, after finding she had lots of space for cute kitties, Helmke started the kitten adoption program. More than 30 of the bookstore’s cats have been adopted. And there is no question in our minds that this number will rise. She said that while some customers come in to browse the books, others come only to see the kittens.
