The Red Panda
The red panda lives in the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China. It eats meat. The name “panda” was first given to red pandas, about fifty years before it was given to black and white pandas. Most of the time, these pandas get as big as a house cat.
Red pandas live in parks in Myanmar, Bhutan, India, Nepal, and China. They also live in protected areas in Bhutan and India.

Shrew Elephant
Elephant shrews are small mammals that live in Africa and eat insects. They are also called jumping shrews or sengis. Their name comes from their long, pointy heads and long, flexible noses that look like tree trunks.
Elephant shrews live in Namibia, Botswana, and South Africa in southern Africa. They like to live in places with sandy soil where they can dig holes. This includes semi-desert, dry grass, and shrub land.
The checkered elephant shrew lives in Central Africa, the golden-rumped elephant shrew is native to Kenya, the grey-faced shrew only lives in two forests in Tanzania, and the black and rufous elephant shrew lives in East Africa.

Meerkat
A small mongoose called a meerkat or suricate lives in southern Africa. It has a broad head, big eyes, a pointed nose, long legs, a thin tail that tapers at the end, and a brindled coat. Meerkats are very social animals that often groom each other or play together.
They usually live in groups. Each Meerkat has an important role to play in the group, which has a very well-developed social structure.
Meerkats are most likely to be seen in Botswana, in the Kalahari Desert near the Makgadikgadi Pans. This huge area of salt pans is about 10,000 km2 and is home to many meerkat clans or mobs, which are groups of related meerkat families.
The Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, which is on the border between South Africa and Botswana, is another popular place to go. It is one of the best places to look for meerkats. This large, semiarid area is a great place for meerkats to live and grow.
Quokka
The short-tailed scrub wallaby is another name for the quokka. Quokkas are known as the happiest animals in the world. They are herbivores that eat most of their food at night.
Aside from grass, they also eat the leaves, stems, and bark of many other plants. If they have to, they can live for a long time without food or water by eating the fat that has built up in their tails.
Quokkas can only be seen on a few small islands off the coast of Western Australia, like Rottnest Island, which is near Perth, and Bald Island, which is near Albany, as well as in small, scattered groups in forests and coastal heath between Perth and Albany.
Numbat
The Numbat is a small endangered marsupial species native to Australia. It is also known as the banded anteater due to its appearance. Numbats are unique in that they have long sticky tongues that allow them to pick up termites, which are their sole meal.
Unfortunately, Numbats are threatened by a variety of sources, the most serious of which is habitat degradation. As a result, less than 1,000 Numbats remain in the wild.
Numbats were once common throughout much of arid and semi-arid southern Australia, but only two naturally occurring populations remain, both in south-west Western Australia. Dryandra Woodland and Tone/Perup Nature Reserve are the two remaining natural populations.
