The Malabar huge squirrel is sometimes called “giant” due to its imposing stature. Its potential full length, including its head and blue, bushy tail, is 3 feet.

Their diet consists primarily of insects but also includes flowers, wood, and seeds. If necessary, they will even eat bird eggs. The length of their tails is a major asset in the hunt for food.
