Car With Giant Bull As Passenger Pulled Over By Police

Sometimes, the most unexpected sights remind us how deep the bond between humans and animals can go. And every now and then, you hear a story that’s so strange, so oddly heartwarming, you can’t help but smile. That’s exactly what happened one quiet morning in Nebraska, when a call came into the Norfolk Police Department that sounded like a joke.
It was just after 10 a.m. when someone reported a car driving down Highway 275 with a cow in the front seat. Naturally, officers assumed it was a calf—something small enough to fit safely inside a car. But when they caught up with the vehicle, what they saw was something else entirely.
Sitting proudly in the passenger seat of a modified Crown Victoria was a full-grown Watusi bull, horns and all. His name? Howdy Doody. And he didn’t look the least bit bothered by the situation.
The driver was Lee Meyer from the nearby town of Neligh. Over the years, he’d become something of a local character, known for his love of animals and especially for his bond with Howdy Doody. The two have been seen at parades and events, and Lee even customized his car to accommodate the bull, removing parts of the roof and windshield to make room for those massive horns. It was clear this wasn’t a joke or a publicity stunt—just a man who truly loved his animal.
Of course, driving a giant bull around town isn’t exactly standard practice. The police had to pull him over, mostly to make sure no one was in danger and that the setup wasn’t violating any laws. Technically, it was a bit of a traffic violation, but no one was hurt, and the officers decided not to issue a ticket. They gave Lee a warning and asked him to head back home.
Lee complied without any fuss, and he and Howdy Doody made their way back to Neligh. The moment might have ended there, but not before the sight of that massive bull riding shotgun started spreading online. Videos and photos of the duo quickly went viral, and soon people all over the country were talking about the man and his beloved Watusi.
Some saw it as odd. Others called it reckless. But most saw it for what it really was: a glimpse of something simple and pure. A man and his animal, enjoying life in their own unique way.
Not every pet rides in the front seat of a car with horns taller than the vehicle itself. And not every day do we get to witness such a strange yet beautiful moment that reminds us how animals, no matter their size, shape, or species, become family.
In a world where it’s easy to judge what’s “normal,” Lee and Howdy Doody showed us that love and loyalty don’t always follow rules. Sometimes, they just take the scenic route. What do you think of Lee and Howdy Doody? Please let us know in our comment section. We love hearing from you!
