Big Paws Kitten Clings to Woman Who Gave Him a Home and Follows Her Cats Around
A Big Paws kitten decided to cling to the woman who took him in and follow her cats around the house.
Tara (@mickeythemanxkitty) was picking up some patio stones last month when a man told her about his neighbor’s cats who needed new homes. “His neighbor had kittens that she was trying to get rid of because they were moving and couldn’t take more than one cat,” Tara told Love Meow.
Tara, who has rescued and adopted many cats and dogs, went to see the family and noticed one of the kittens had curly ears. She returned home to deliver the stones but couldn’t stop thinking about them.
“I assumed this was a predestined situation. How else could this have happened? So I returned.”
When she returned, the kitten with many extra toes was the only one still looking for a home; the others had been adopted. “Because the man who sold me the stones was afraid the neighbor would just let him go, I told her I’d take the baby.”
Max, the kitten, was nine weeks old and eager to be loved. “He was an instant cuddle-bug when he got home, purring and very vocal.”
Max would rush up to his human for cuddles as soon as he was settled into his new home. He quickly figured out how to get Tara’s attention by crawling onto her lap, chest, or climbing up her leg.
Max’s meows and the commotion caused by his zoomies quickly piqued the interest of the neighborhood’s other furry residents, including Surry the gentle rescue pup, Mira the sweet wobbly tortie, and Mickey the fearless scooter cat.
“The next day, I introduced him to Mickey (who has Manx Syndrome), and they hit it off right away. They are constantly wrestling and playing. Max never stops, and Mickey can’t believe he was ever like that “Tara informed Love Meow.

“They end up cuddling buddies when Max finally tires himself out.”
Max was exhausted from his first veterinarian visit when he returned home. Mickey seemed to know exactly what he needed and scooted over to offer some tender loving care.
“I discovered them curled up together, Mickey cleaning him all over and Max sleeping on top of him. It was the cutest thing I’d ever seen.”
Max was adamant about befriending everyone in the house at his own pace. He had climbed over the kitty playpen and was hanging out with Surry the dog before they knew it. The nurturing canine tolerated every antics from the feisty kitty and only wanted to lick him.
“He is an absolute love-bug, and he and my special girl Mira (the sweet wobbly cat) fell in love right away.”
“Max is slowly getting to know everyone in the house, and, like Mickey, he gets right in their faces with no fear. I believe Mickey taught him that he can accomplish anything he sets his mind to.”
Mickey has assumed the role of older brother. He teaches Max the ropes, shares his toys with him, and tolerates all of his sneak attacks.
“It’s been nearly three weeks since I brought him home, and he’s been an excellent addition to the family. To think he could have ended up on the street. It frightens me. However, it is preventable by spaying and neutering our pets.”
At his forever home, the kitty with the big mittens lives like a king. He receives human attention on demand and has many furry siblings to play and nap with at all times.
