A snow-white Panda walked past a Forest Camera in China, and Scientists were stunned! – petcutes

That’s just a polar bear that caught the wrong flight.
Love that reports say it is healthy and doing well! Beautiful animal.
The animal showed up in April 2019 in the Wolong National Nature Reserve in Sichuan. The photo showed an all-white coat and reddish eyes, the telltale signs of albinism. It was the first confirmed record of an albino giant panda in the wild.
Researchers said the panda looked healthy and moved with a steady gait. That alone was big news, since albinism can sometimes come with health issues.
In 2023, new infrared footage caught the same panda again. It appeared to be 5 or 6 years old, interacting near a mother and cub, and navigating the forest as any other panda would. For now, it’s believed to be the only known albino giant panda in the wild.
Follow-up work suggests the panda is male, and the sighting confirms that an albinism gene is present in the local population. Teams have added more cameras to learn how he lives, who he meets, and whether he might one day father cubs.
A rare animal, bright as snow, moving through a dark green forest. One frame of video can change what we know, and remind us how much is still out there to discover.
