Gintar Bertauskien, a veterinarian and dog groomer from Kaunas, Lithuania, first wanted a Komondor when she was given a Christmas postcard depicting a beautiful and large Komondor.
The woman fulfilled her dream and is now the proud owner of one of only two such dogs in her country; she filmed her pet swimming and posted the bizarre clip to her Instagram account, where it quickly gained widespread attention.

The film’s over 32,000 views helped pay for a portion of Hanga’s operation. The large, mop-like fuzzy gets a lot of attention from passers-by, who often stop to pet her or pose for pictures with her, as reported by Bored Panda.
Ginter told Kas Vyksta in an interview:
We frequently visit the city at odd hours to avoid detection. Hanga is a watchful dog who approaches new people with caution. There might be tension if there are several of them.
Dogs of the Komondor breed are known for their reserved demeanor and protective temperament. They are programmed to protect livestock and will typically do so only if they perceive a threat or feel threatened in their own territory.
Gintare has had her enormous pet for seven years; she bought it in Hungary. Hanga, a famous celebrity, once walked 1,300 kilometers only to get back to her house. They like strolling the neighborhood together.
The komondor is a breed that benefits from early socialization and training because of its intelligence, size, and agility. Training should begin when the dog is between four and eight months old.
It takes up to six years for a dog of this breed to reach full maturity and develop the distinctive dreadlocks appearance, but once they do, the short, fluffy white coat requires just minimal maintenance.
Gintar is happy to have Hanga as a companion; the two go on frequent strolls together, and the big dog is quite protective of Gintar and her family.
