A Christmas Miracle for an Old Dog Left Outside in the Cold

184

In 2022 on December 20th, everyone was having a great time with their family. Christmas lights adorned the pine trees, and upbeat music could be heard all across town. An unfortunate soul was abandoned in the bitter weather, where she had to battle for her life. Her optimism may have been dashed by the snow, but Christmas is a time of miracles, as everyone knows.

During a snowfall in Ecorse, Michigan, a pit bull mix named Emmy was discovered curled up on the sidewalk. Her dark fur was coated with snow, and the temperature outside was around two degrees Fahrenheit with gusts of thirty miles per hour. People in the area spotted her, and they reported her to the Friends of the River Rouge Animal Shelter. Patty, who had been dispatched to the scene after the association received the call, found the skinny dog nearly frozen solid.

Patty quickly reached out for aid by sharing her concerns about Emmy on social media. Patty took her to Pet Care Clinic Lincoln Park after getting advice from the local spay-neuter clinic, the PAWS Clinic. Here is where the veterinary staff checked up on Emmy. They volunteered to take her to an emergency vet facility right away since she was malnourished, had fleas, and had pressure sores on her elbows and knees.

Patty’s good pals at P.O.E.T. Animal Rescue are now in charge. The dog was sent to the emergency room of the clinic to have her temperature raised. Emmy, who was probably 8 or 9 years old, had a terrible time with her previous owners.

The pit mix girl’s health stabilized on Christmas morning, and Boesen came to get her since she was no longer in danger. The woman had heard about the dog’s predicament, but she had no idea that Emmy could be so nice and docile. The fluffy animal welcomed Boesen with a wag of its tail. She also made sounds because she enjoyed being petted and cuddled.
