Hoping she gets a forever family that gives her all the love she deserves!
For more than a week, a frail black dog roamed the streetsāli.mp.ing, [fr.ighte.ned], and shrinking away from every hand that reached for her. [A.ban.do.ned] and [be.tr.a.yed], she no longer believed in people.
Deputy Keith Stokes tried again and again to rescue her, but she always slipped away.
Then Officer Megan Feidler chose a different approachāshe lowered herself to the ground, spoke in a calm, soothing voice, and waited. Slowly, the trembling dog surrendered, lying down beside her. With patience and care, Feidler slipped a leash gently around her neck.š
Inside the van, the exhausted pup curled up and drifted into sleep, as though she finally felt safe.š
A veterinary exam later revealed a [br.ok.en] hip. Volunteers gave her a new nameāMaeveāand with it, the promise of a new beginning.
After so much hardship, Maeve is finally stepping out of the shadows, guided by compassion, patience, and hope.
